GeneCAPSULE™, a single use device for rapid recovery of DNA, RNA and protein from gels (agarose or acrylamide)
The system uses the principle of electroelution and requires no additional equipment
Procedure takes as little as 90 seconds hands-on time
It takes less than 60 seconds to recover 1000 bp DNA
The user simply picks up the DNA, RNA or protein band with the device and replaces it on the top of the gel.
Following rapid electroelution, DNA, RNA or protein is recovered in 10-30µL with recovery as high as 95%
Can be used for extraction of 10 bp DNA/RNA and protein as small as 4000MW
Recovered DNA is ready for ligation, restriction enzyme digestion, sequencing, amplification, random priming, nick translation or other enzymatic reactions
Procedure:
Two components: Gel-PICK™ for picking DNA bands and Gene-TRAP for trapping DNA
The Gel-PICK™ is used to pick up the gel piece containing the DNA band intended for extraction
The Gel-PICK™ is then placed into the Gene-TRAP™ and the GeneCAPSULE™ assembly is set on the top of the electrophoresis gel
DNA is then collected from the DNA-Collection Port
