  • Activity: 3000 - 4000 U/mg protein
  • Application: as an indicator enzyme when conjugted to proteins such as antibodies, avidin etc. Suitable also for western blot analysis.
  • Unit definition: the amount of enzyme catalyzing the liberation of 1 μmole of p-nitrophenyl phosphate per minute at 37° C, pH 9.8 in diethanolamine buffer, 405nm.
  • If assayed at 25°C in glycine buffer, pH 9.6, then, 1 glycine unit= 3DEA units
