Description

Amido Black is a histological, protein, and nucleic acid dye. It is often used in gel electrophoresis and Western Blot.

This 2X Solution contains 0.2% Amido Black 10B as well as Acetic Acid and Methanol. The ready-to-use formula can be used directly in SDS-PAGE or Western Blot. To destain blots stained with Amido Black, use 90% methanol/2% acetic acid/8% water.

Coomassie Brilliant Blue R-250 and G-250 are popular alternatives to Amido Black in electrophoresis.
