Imidazole (C₃H₄N₂) buffer has a 0.5M concentration and a pH level of 7.0.

Imidazole can be used to prepare buffers in the pH range of 6.2 – 7.8 at 25°C. The pH of the buffer is adjusted with HCl. It is also a chelator for the binding of various divalent cations.
