Penicillin::Streptomycin Solution, Sterile

Penicillin: Streptomycin (Pen: Strep) solution is a standard antibiotic mixture used against a wide variety of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacterial organisms. It has no activity against fungi. This product is useful both as a preventive agent and as a treatment for bacterially contaminated cultures. However,organisms resistant to one or both antibiotics are becoming more common in cell culture laboratories. Investigators need to be alert to this possibility and consider other antibiotics. This solution is supplied in a 100x concentration to make dispensing into liquid medium more convenient.
