Tris Acetate Buffer 2M, pH 8.3, Sterile is used as a running buffer in DNA agarose gels and non-denaturing RNA agarose gels. Tris-acetate is an effective buffer for ATP assays for firefly luciferase. When measuring the pH of a solution containing Tris, single junction pH electrodes that contain silver should be avoided.
