Blasticidin S Hydrochloride

Blasticidin S Hydrochloride is a nucleoside antibiotic used in cell culture. It inhibits protein synthesis by preventing the peptide bond formation by ribosomes. Blasticidin S is used for the selection of pUNO I plasmids in E.coli and mammalian cell culture.

Blasticidin S Hydrochloride is provided at >99% purity and is recommended to be used at 2-20 µg/mL depending on your individual sample's needs. For your convenience, bioWORLD also offers a 10 mg/mL sterile solution to be diluted and used directly in cell culture. This highly effective antibiotic can be added to many liquid and agar microbiological media formulations such as Luria-Bertani (LB) Agar, Lennox or LB Broth, Miller.
