Description

Chloramphenicol is an antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis. It works by preventing peptide bond formation via peptidyl transferase. Chloramphenicol can be used in large scale plasmid preparation and CAT assays, among a variety of other molecular biology uses.

Ultra Pure Grade Chloramphenicol is of >98% purity and has a potency of >1000 µg/mg. This antibiotic is soluble in organic solvents, as well as in Propylene Glycol.

Chloramphenicol can be purchased as a sterile solution or already included in a number of different agar plate compositions for cell culture. Rose Benagl Chloramphenicol Agar is used for the selective enumeration of yeasts and molds.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
