Description

Spectinomycin is a broad-spectrum aminocyclitol antibiotic that inhibits protein synthesis. In plant tissue culture, Spectinomycin has been used to distinguish cell layers in developing shoots. It can be analyzed spectrophotometrically via Benzofurazan.

Spectinomycin Dihydrochloride Pentahydrate is of Cell Culture Grade. A concentration below 20 mg/mL is generally sufficient. bioWORLD offers a number of sterile solutions at 50 mg/mL and 100 mg/mL concentrations for simple dilution. Agar plates with Spectinomycin are a great option for those short on time.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
