Description

Bis-Tris, or Bis-Tris Methane, is an inert, zwitterionic buffer often used for gel electrophoresis. Tris-Glycine gels must be operated at a very alkaline pH, making Bis-Tris the optimal choice for a neutral pH gel. It is also a popular non-toxic alternative to Cacodylate buffers.

Bis-Tris is readily dissolvable in aqueous solutions, simplifying the preparation of buffers for gel electrophoresis, blotting, and chromatography. We recommend our Bis-Tris Running Buffer and Transfer Buffer concentrates for simple, cost-effective SDS-PAGE.
