Description

Paclobutrazol, or PBZ, is a growth hormone that switches plant growth from stems to roots by inhibiting Gibberellin synthesis. When applied to seeds, it has been shown to reduce stress from frost and drought in some species. Because Paclobutrazol is a triazole fungicide, it can prevent contamination in plant species. Paclobutrazol has been shown to be especially effecive on Azaleas, Bedding Plants, Bulb crops, Chrysanthemums, Perennials, Poinsettias, Woody plants, and Flowering foliage.

Paclobutrazol is of Plant Tissue Culture Grade and may be used directly in plant tissue culture media. For best results, a concentration of less than 2 mg/mL is recommended. bioWORLD offers over 200 different plant media formulations, including popular choices such as Murashige and Skoog (MS).

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
