Description

Activated Charcoal is a high-purity carbon that has been shown to encourage shoot proliferation in plant tissue culture. When added to complex media such as Brain-Heart Infusion Broth, it can induce the expression of Positive Regulatory Factor A genes.

Some bacteriological isolation media call for the addition of Activated Charcoal at 0.20%. The granulated charcoal can be ground further for whatever your desired end use is.

bioWORLD offers a number of plant tissue culture media formulations containing Charcoal, especially for Orchid growth. If you are interested in this same great product but as a fine powder for filtration, we encourage you to check out Activated Charcoal Powder.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
