Agarose (3%) & LE Agarose 1% in 1X TAE Buffer is typically used in the separation of nucleic acids. This buffer makes conditions slightly alkaline, protecting DNA from hydrolysis and contains a chelating agent that sequesters divalent ions, in particular magnesium ions.
