Description

Bovine Serum Albumin 20%, also known as BSA, is a popular reagent in Western Blotting, enzyme systems, and protein supplements. Because of its stable nature, BSA is ideal for blocking in immunohistochemistry by binding to non-specific bonding sites and leaving the antigens of interest open for antibodies.

Bovine Serum Albumin 20% is prepared using high quality Fraction V BSA, which is thoroughly tested for chemical impurities and virus strains that are common in the cows whose blood provides the serum.

To use as a 1 mg/mL protein standard in a number of assays, dilute 500 µL of BSA 20% in 100mL. If diluting for long-term storage, it is recommended to use sterile buffers to prevent contamination. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles of the serum for best results.
