HPCE (High Performance Capillary Electrophoresis) buffer has a pH of 2.5 and contains 100 mM sodium phosphate. During HPCE methods, analytes migrate under the influence of an electric field and can be separated according to ionic mobility and/or partitioning into an alternate phase through non-covalent interactions. Analytes may also be concentrated by means of gradients in conductivity and pH.
