Description

Benzamidine hydrochloride is used as a ligand in protein crystallography. It prevents protein degradation by inhibiting proteases. Benzamidine has also been observed to inhibit trypsin, serine proteases, thrombin, and plasmin. Closely related is 4-Aminobenzamidine dihydrochloride.

Benzamidine HCl is of Ultra Pure Grade and has a purity exceeding 99%. For most applications, a 1mM Solution is sufficient. bioWORLD carries a 20% stock solution to have on hand for quick dilution. Our Benzamidine Separopore® 6B is an excellent choice for serine protease purification.
