Description

MTT, or Thiazolyl Blue Tetrazolium Bromide, is a membrane-permeable dye. It is intracellularly reduced by mitochondrial enzymes, leaving a purple color that can then be analyzed to quantify the number of viable cells present in a sample.

MTT is sensitive to light and should be kept in the dark until the assay is complete. MTT concentration can by read by a spectrophotometer at 500-600 nm. The MTT Assay is generally performed at 0.5 mg/well.

MTT is often dissolved in PBS for use in cytotoxicity assays. bioWORLD provides everything necessary for liquid cell culture, including an extensive portfolio of culture media.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
