BES (2-(Bis(2-hydroxyethyl) amino) ethanesulfonic acid) buffer has a concentration of 0.5M and a pH value of 7.5. BES is a zwitterionic buffer used in biochemistry and molecular biology, and has been used to study versatile catalyst precursors for mild hydrocarboxylation of alkanes to carboxylic acids. BES was used to determine that saline buffers minimize the action of interfering factors in the bacterial endotoxins test.
