BIS-TRIS buffer has a concentration of 0.5M and a pH at 6.5. BIS-TRIS is an amine buffer similar to Tris in structure, and is a buffer used for protein and nucleic acid systems. It is also used as a substitute for cacodylic acid buffer systems. BIS-TRIS binds to Cu and Pb and weakly to Mg, Ca, Mn, Co, Ni, Zn, and Cd⁴.
