Luria-Bertani (LB) Broth, Miller

Luria-Bertani (LB) Broth, Miller is used for the propagation and maintenance of E.coli, as well as a number of other bacteria. It is of a higher salt content than the traditional LB, Lennox formulation to facilitate the growth of strains containing plasmids.

To use LB Broth, Miller in cell culture, dissolve 25 g/L of distilled water at 100°C and autoclave. Different antibiotics may be added as necessary to the liquid medium as it cools. For use in an agar medium, LB Agar, Miller is also available. LB Miller Capsules eliminate the need to measure the amount of powder being added and ensure uniform results between different batches.
