Description

Acetone is an important organic solvent for biotechnology. Isopropyl alcohol is a popular choice for its economic price and versatility. Many stains, dyes, and antibiotics are only soluble in polar, aprotic solvents like Acetone. It can be used to wash fats and vitamins from certain proteins.

Molecular Biology Grade Acetone is of >99% purity and tested for a number of impurities. Acetone has a UV absorbance of 330 nm, making it ideal for HPLC calibration. Just dilute 5 mL in 995 mL of Nuclease-free water. Apply pure Isopropyl alcohol directly to microscope slides for quick and easy destaining.

Our Separopore® line of cross-linked agarose beads are stable in Acetone for gel filtration.
