Description

Hygromycin B is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that acts against bacteria, fungi and higher eukaryotes by inhibiting protein synthesis. Originally developed as an antihelminthic, hygromycin B is used in the research laboratory primarily for the selection and maintenance of cells that carry the hygromycin resistance gene.
