Description

Affinity-purified Amaranthus caudatus (ACL) (SKU: 21510158) is a dimer glycoprotein made up of two subunits. ACL has preferential specificity to oligosaccharides containing the galactosyl disaccharide Galβ3GalNAc.  ACL tolerates sialic acid substitution at the 3 positions of galactose in the “T” antigen. It does not have specificity for blood groups but does have a higher affinity for type O erythrocytes over B and A.

Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is a 40 kDa enzyme that catalyzes oxidation reactions, producing a colored or fluorescent product, commonly used in blotting, immunoassays, and immunohistochemistry. Amaranthus caudatus Lectin (ACL/ACA) is conjugated to HRP in an optimized ratio to ensure optimal staining characteristics for various applications.

Recommended Usage: Recommended dilutions 0.5 – 10 µg/ml in 1XPBS. Less than 1 µg of ACL will agglutinate human, sheep, goat, rat, rabbit and guinea-pig erythrocytes.

Storage Instruction: To prevent degradation and avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles, aliquot your product into small, single-use volumes and store them at -20°C

Application

Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry, Western blotting, Cell typing, Glycobiology.
