Maleic Acid Hydrazide

Maleic Acid Hydrazide or 1,2-Dihydro-3,6-pyridazinedione is a synthetic compound which acts as a herbicide and plant growth regulator. Maleic Acid Hydrazide's residue in food is extremely toxic and could cause CNS disturbances and liver damage. Maleic hydrazide has a mutagenic effect on the cells and prevents cell division. Maleic Acid Hydrazide also acts as a biosynthetic activity inhibitor.
