Oxford Listeria Agar

  • Used with addition of antibiotics for the selective isolation of Listeria monocytogenes from food
  • pH: 7.2
  • Working Concentration: 57.5 g/L
  • Dehydrated Appearance: beige, homogeneous powder
  • Prepared Appearance: light to medium amber agar
  • Soluble in boiling water

    • Not included:
    Per L of media, disolve the following in 10 mL of a 50% solution of ethanol.

  • Cycloheximide (40310028) - 0.4 g
  • Colistin sulfate (40310026) - 0.02 g
  • Fosfomycin - 0.01 g
  • Acriflavine (40100012) - 5.0 mg
  • Cerofotetan - 2.0 mg
  • Filter sterilize antibiotic mix and add to L of autoclaved media after it has cooled.
