Phage Lysis Buffer assists the process of cell lysis so that the cells’ macromolecules can be analyzed. Phase lysis is part of the lytic cycle of lytic (virulent) phages. Lytic phages use the cell to reproduce; in order to release the phage particles, the cell is lysed.
