Used by brewing industry for the differentiation of brewing yeasts from wild yeasts.

Composition/Liter

Peptic digest of animal tissue 5.0 g

Yeast extract 3.0 g

Malt extract 3.0 g

Dextrose 10.0 g

Basic fuchsin 0.47 g

Sodium sulphite 2.92 g

Dextrin 0.11 g

Agar 20.0 g

Total= Use 44.5 g/L of distilled water

Final pH (at 25°C) 6.9 ± 0.2
