α-Chymotrypsin

Alpha-Chymotrypsin is a digestive enzyme that naturally serves as an anti-inflammatory. Purified from bovine pancreas, Chymotrypsin A is used in proteomics.

One unit hydrolyzes one µmol of Benzoyl-L-tyrosine ethyl ester per minute at 25°C, pH 7.8 in the presence of ionized calcium. 1 BTEE unit = 29.5 USPNF units.
