Description

Luria Bertani (LB) Agar Plates contain a nutrient-rich growth medium to encourage cell growth. The presence of 100 µg/mL of Ampicillin Sodium Salt narrows the strains of bacteria that may be cultured on the plate. Only bacteria that contain the bla gene for Ampicillin resistance will grow. Some common ampicillin resistant strains contain pBluescript, pGEM, and pUC plasmids.

For transfering transformant colonies to a new plate, our Replica Plating Tool and Velveteen Transfer Squares are a popular choice.
