  • This buffer is used as a reaction buffer for enzymes with an activity in the basic pH range and in isotachophoresis of proteins.
  • It is a component in SDS-gradient gel electrophoresis system separating polypeptides in the molecular weight range of 1500 to 100,000.
  • The buffer pH is adjusted with NaOH or HCl taking care not to cross the desired pH and then backtracking since this may result in altering the salt concentration.
