Human Beta Defensin-1 (Recombinant) is purified from E.Coli to achieve a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide chain with 47 amino acids. As a member of the beta-defensin family it has antibacterial activity and may be involved in the pathogenesis of cystic fibrosis and severe sepsis.
