Description

Recombinant Human SUMO-I/Sentrin-I

Source: E.Coli

Background: Human SUMO-1 (small ubiquitin-like modifier) is an 11-kDa protein that shares 18% sequence homology with ubiquitin. Smt3p, which is 48% identical to human SUMO-1, has been identified in yeast . SUMO-1/Smt3p is activated by a heterodimeric E1 enzyme in both the yeast and mammalian systems It has been shown that SUMO-1 can be conjugated to a number of proteins such as PML , RanGAP1 , I?Ba, FAS/apolipoprotein-1 , p53, RAD51, and RAD52.

Description: The active human SUMO-I (the 1-97 animo acid region of the Ubiquitin-like protein SMT3C precursor. The final fraction of enzyme contains single polypeptide band of approximately 20 kDa on SDS PAGE.

Physical Appearance: Sterile Filtered clear solution at a concentration of 0.5mg/ml.

Formulation: 10mM sodium chloride, 100mM imidazole, 0.5mM PMSF, 1mM DTT and 10% glycerol.

Stability: Recombinant Human SUMO-I although stable at 140C for 1 week, should be stored desiccated below -180C. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% HSA or BSA). Please avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity: Greater than 98.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) Anion-exchange FPLC. (c) Analysis by reducing and non-reducing SDS-PAGE Silver Stained gel.

Endotoxin: Less than 0.1 ng/ g (IEU/ g) of SUMO-1
