Description: The DNA encoding chicken LDH-B is cloned from cDNA library of chicken heart. A tetrameric enzyme that, along with the coenzyme NAD+, catalyzes the interconversion of LACTATE and PYRUVATE. In vertebrates, genes for three different subunits (LDH-A, LDH-B and LDH-C) exist.

Formulation: Lyophilized from a 1 mg/mL solution with 0.1 mg/ml potassium phosphate.

Usage: Create a stock solution of 100 mg/mL in sterile water. Add 0.1% Human Seruman Albumin or Bovine Serum Albumin for long-term storage. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Purity: Greater than 95.0% as determined by: (a) Analysis by RP-HPLC. (b) SDS-PAGE

Unit definition: One unit is defined as 1 mol of NAD+ production per minute under the assay conditions (25 C, pH 7.5). Both transaminase activities include alpha-hydroxyglutarate dehydrogenase activity.
