Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin

Pregnant Mare Serum Gonadotropin, or PMSG, is a complex glycoprotein that stimulates development of the ovarian follicle. It is an efficient substitute for Follicle Stimulating Gonadotropin (FSH) and Interstitial Cell Stimulating Hormone of the anterior pituitary gland. This hormone is also known as Equine Chorionic Gonadotropin. PMSG has the same receptor as Leutinizing Hormone (LH) and can induce ovulation in animals used for laboratory research.

High quality PMSG has an activity of about 1000 U/mg and is stable in distilled water. For long-term storage, it is recommended to reconstitute in TBS with BSA.
