Description

Recombinant Rubella Virus envelope glycoprotein E2

Source: E.coli

Background: The rubella virus (RV) structural proteins capsid, E2, and E1 are synthesized as a polyprotein precursor. The signal peptide that initiates translocation of E2 into the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum remains attached to the carboxy terminus of the capsid protein after cleavage by signal peptidase.

Description: The protein contains the Rubella Virus glycoprotein E2 immunodominant fragment, amino acids: (31-105).

Purification method: Purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.

Purity: Protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining) and RP-HPLC.

Protein conc: 1mg/ml in 20mM imidazol, 8M urea and 0.1M NaCl.

Storage: Protein is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon arrival, Store at -20C.

Stability: Five years frozen. One month in solution at room temperature.

Specificity: Immunoreactive with sera of Rubella Virus infected individuals.

Application: Antigen in ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of Rubella Virus with minimal specificity problems.

Usage: BioWORLD's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
