Description

Recombinant SARS-Associated Coronavirus Nucleocapsid (1-49)

Source: E.Coli

Background: SARS Coronavirus is an enveloped virus containing three outer structural proteins, namely the membrane (M), envelope (E), and spike (S) proteins. The nucleocapsid (N) protein together with the viral RNA genome presumably form a helical core located within the viral envelope. The SARS-CoV nucleocapsid (N) protein is a 423 amino-acid, predicted phospho-protein of 46 kDa that shares little homology with other members of the coronavirus family. A short serine-rich stretch, and a putative bipartite nuclear localization signal are unique to it, thus suggesting its involvement in many important functions during the viral life cycle

Description: The protein contains the Nucleocapsid protein immunodominant fragments, amino acids: (1-49). SARS-ACN is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Purification method: Purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.

Purity: Recombinant SARS-ACN is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining) and RP-HPLC.

Formulation: 1mg/ml in 50 mM Tris-HCl, 60 mM NaCl and 50% glycerol

Storage: Recombinant SARS-ACN is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon arrival, Store at -20C.

Stability: Recombinant SARS-ACN is stable 5 years frozen, One month in solution at room temperature.

Specificity: Immunoreactive with sera of SARS-infected individuals

Application: Recombinant SARS-ACN Antigen may be used in ELISA and Western blots, excellent for detection of SARS with minimal specificity problems.
