Description

Recombinant Varicella Zoster Virus gE (VZV-gE)

Source: E.Coli

Background: Varicella-zoster virus (VZV) interacts with cell surface heparan sulfate proteoglycans during virus attachment. VZV-gE is a glycoprotein that plays an active or supportive role in VZV cell membrane fusion. VZV-gE was found to enhance the fusogenic potential of VZV gB.

Description: The protein contains the VZV gE immunodominant regions, amino acids: (48-135). VZV-gE is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.

Purification method: Purified by proprietary chromatographic technique.

Purity: Protein is >95% pure as determined by 10% PAGE (coomassie staining) and RP-HPLC.

Formulation: 1mg/ml in 25 mM Tris-HCl, 1 mM EDTA and 50% glycerol.

Storage: Protein is shipped at ambient temperature. Upon arrival, Store at -20C.

Stability: Five years frozen. One month in solution at room temperature.

Specificity: Immunoreactive with sera of VZV-infected individuals

Application: Antigen in ELISA and Western blots, excellent antigen for detection of VZV with minimal specificity problems.

Usage: BioWORLD's products are furnished for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as drugs, agricultural or pesticidal products, food additives or household chemicals.
