Description

Tris-Base, sometimes known as Trizma Base, contains a primary amine and is a common buffer component when working with proteins and nucleic acids. Tris is the main component in important buffers such as TAE, TBE, TE, and TBS.

Biotechnology Grade Tris Base is of >99% purity and is readily soluble in aqueous solutions. Tris-containing buffers are most effective between pH 7-9. Gel electrophoresis with Silver chloride single-junction electrodes should be avoided to prevent precipitation.
