Description

Bacto Peptone is derived from the enzymatic digest of animal protein sourced from beef bone. It is a common component in microbiological media as an organic nitrogen source for bacteria and fungi. Bacto Peptone has even been observed to be effective in recovering vitrified shoots in plants.

It is recommended to add Bacto Peptone to media at a concentration of 5-20 g/L for optimal growth, depending on the individual needs of your sample. bioWORLD carries a portfolio of over 700 microbiological media formulations, many of which already contain Bacto Peptone, such as Nutrient Agar, YEB Agrobacterium Growth Medium, and Brain Heart Infusion Agar.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
