Description

6-Benzylaminopurine, also known as 6-BAP, is a popular plant growth regulator. This synthetic cytokinin works with auxins to stimulate cell division. Research has shown that 6-Benzylaminopurine may be an effective agent at preventing chlorophyll loss in vegetables after harvest, maintaining a healthy green color for longer on grocery store shelves. When applied to crop plants, 6-BAP has also shown to aid in starch retention under drought conditions.

6-Benzylaminopurine is a popular additive to plant culture media such as Murashige and Skoog. It is especially effective when used in combination with Kinetin, conveniently provided in a 50X sterile solution, ready to be added directly to liquid media.

bioWORLD's Plant Tissue Culture Grade 6-BAP is soluble in 1M NaOH and 0.1N KOH; solutions that we can also provide at high quality. At >99% purity, you can be sure that bioWORLD is the best source for your plant research needs.
