Beef Extract (Powder)

Beef extract is dehydrated from the tissue of cows. It is a highly nutritious growth supplement in microbiological media for cell culture. Beef extract is also used in the fermentation of many bacteria such as E.coli and Bacillus subtillis.

It is recommended to add Beef extract to microbiological media at 3-5 g/L for optimal growth. bioWORLD offers over 700 different media formulations to find the composition that best suits your sample.
