Description

Potato Dextrose Agar is used for the cultivation and enumeration of yeasts and molds. It is especially efficient at increasing the growth of Fusarium species.

Dissolve 39 grams of Potato Dextrose Agar in distilled water at 100°C. To prevent bacterial growth, sterile antibiotics may be added to the medium as it is cooling, after autoclaving. Additionally, Potato Dextrose Agar is available pre-prepared with Tartaric Acid or Lactic Acid.
