bio-WORLD's bioTrAP Serum Abundant Protein Removal kit removes four highly abundant proteins from human serum and plasma. These high-abundant proteins include albumin, haptoglobin, transferrin, and alpha-1-antitrypsin. The high affinity-based columns contain Separopore^®-matrix coupled with antibodies against these major serum proteins. The kit is designed to provide specific, simultaneous, and maximum removal of these four proteins, which comprise 80-90% of the proteins in human serum. The kit provides a binding capacity of 2mg abundant protein per column. Depletion of albumin and IgG from typical human serum samples is consistently higher than 80% without binding significant amounts of other serum proteins. The remarkable selectivity provided by the resinsand the optimized design of the columns result in background binding of less than 10% to other serum proteins. Sample volumes from 20-60µl can be processed without any loss of selectivity.
