Description

Citrate Buffer is used in a number of microbiology/immunology applications, such as an anticoagulant to stabilize blood products for use in assay because it contains a calcium chelator. Citrate is also a common buffer for the retrieval of antigens and epitopes from formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded tissue sections. This is due to its ability to break down protein cross-links, allowing for an enhanced reactivity with antibody and thus improves reactivity of antibody in Western Blotting.

Citrate Buffer 1M, pH 6.0 is prepared by balancing Sodium Citrate with Citric Acid, both of Ultra Pure Grade and >99% purity. This buffer is sterile for use in molecular biology applications.

bioWORLD carries all of the chemicals, buffers, and antibodies needed for electrophoresis and blotting. To use this Citrate Buffer for antigen retrieval, we have all of the necessary Formalin fixatives and detergents, such as Tween 20 and Triton X100.

bioWORLD's products are supplied for LABORATORY RESEARCH USE ONLY. The product may not be used as a drug, agricultural or pesticidal product, food additive or as a household chemical.
