Casamino Acids

Acid hydrolyzed casein with low sodium chloride and iron concentrations, as well as a small amount of cystine. Tryptophan and vitamins are destroyed by the acid treatmnt, while remaining amino acids are a source of nutrients for various microorganisms. Casamino acids are used mainly in Mueller Hinton Agar and Broth.
